Three new hires at the Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council (AMVIC) will help to improve consumer protection and ensure fair enforcement, said the group’s CEO, Doug Lagore. They include:
- Brenda Chomey, in the newly-created position of registrar.
- Deb McKay as human resources manager — another new position.
- Jacqueline Kibsey as in-house counsel.
The appointments directly reflect recommendations outlined in the 2016 Report on Governance and Operations commissioned by Service Alberta.
“This renewed focus on protection and fair enforcement is critical to consumers and Alberta’s automotive industry,” said Lagore.
Educating consumers on their rights and protections is a priority for the group, he said.
