Nissan shuffles top executives

Nissan announced a number of senior management changes within North America, effective Jan. 1, 2016.

Christian Meunier, who has been at the helm of Nissan Canada over the last three years, will now lead operations in Nissan North America as senior vice-president of Nissan Sales & Marketing and Operations, said the company. He will report to Jose Munoz, executive vice-president of Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. and chairman of NNA.

Meunier will also hold the title of chairman of Nissan Canada, said the company.

“Building and leading the Canadian team over the past three years has been one of the most exciting and rewarding challenges of my career, and together we’ve achieved remarkable success, said Meunier, in a written release.

“I’m looking forward to my new role and as part of that, continuing to oversee the Canadian team as we strive toward achieving our business objectives. We have the right team in place to do this, and I’m excited to be part of it.”

Joni Paiva has been named the new president of Nissan Canada, and will report to Meunier, said Nissan. Paiva is currently the director and chief marketing manager at Nissan North America, and prior to this held sales and marketing positions with Renault in France and Argentina.

Nissan added Stephen Lester, managing director for Infiniti Canada, will now report directly to Randy Parker, vice-president of Infiniti Americas, for all Infiniti Canada business.
