Dealers are always looking to make the auction process faster and easier, and that means taking the bidding online.
Copart Canada, which processes and sells salvage and clean title vehicles to dealers, has now fully integrated its Virtual Bidding — The Third Generation (VB3) technology at its Montreal, Que. location.
Prior to the upgrade, the location held a more traditional, live auction with a broadcast web tool.
The company also announced it has opened a new location in Moncton, N.B., which expands the company’s coverage of Eastern Canada.
Copart added both locations have now successfully hosted online auctions using the VB3 technology. VB3 has also been translated into French for further versatility, said the company.
Copart Moncton hosted its first auction on Oct. 13 and will be hosting an auction every second Tuesday going forward.
The Montreal location had its first fully online auction on Nov. 3 and experienced record auction attendance. Online auctions for Montreal are now hosted every Tuesday at 10 a.m. EST, said the company.
“We are excited about our growth in Canada and our ability to provide a first-class, online auction experience in both English and French,” said Steve Macaluso, Managing Director of Copart Canada, in a written release.
“Launching these locations as a part of Copart Canada has been a team effort across the company. We are also grateful for the support from these communities as well as our insurance partners,” Macaluso added.
