Fundy Honda celebrates growth

Fundy Honda SPCA Grand Opening-640

When Paul Mifsud and Ian Brett took over the Fundy Honda dealership in 2009, they had 33 employees. That number has climbed up to 67.

The Saint John, N.B.-based facility has also gotten new digs, moving from a 15,000 sq.ft. facility to 40,000 sq.ft. in a new location.

To celebrate, Fundy Honda held a grand opening ceremony on October 6, 2015, and invited clients and members of the community for tours of the new facility.

“We call it a grand opening but really I coined it as a celebration of growth,” said Mifsud, Partner and Director of Operations for Fundy Honda.

As part of the celebration, Mifsud presented the Saint John SPCA Animal Rescue with a new 2015 Honda Fit.

Jerry Chenkin, President and CEO of Honda Canada, also attended the opening party, along with the national Honda and Atlantic zone teams.

“Honda Canada has a high value for their dealers. I think that was a big part of why they came — it was their commitment to the dealer body,” said Mifsud.

He said the Honda team was impressed with the new facility, which doubles the dealership’s capacity for mechanical service bays.

It boasts a service drive-through with three lanes for quick service, a collision centre with 14 new employees, and a separate four bay detail centre, said Mifsud. There’s also a nine car showroom, where the old facility could only fit four vehicles, he added.

The new facility is fully operational, with construction completed at the end of September, said Mifsud.
