For the third consecutive year, Prostate Cancer Canada will be raffling off a one-of-a-kind vehicle with its Rock the Road draw in support of prostate cancer awareness and research projects.

This year’s vehicle, which will be showcased and auctioned off at the Canadian International Auto Show on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015, is a souped up 50th anniversary 2015 Ford Mustang GT.

“Guys have real trouble talking about health and going to the doctor, and when it’s health below the waist, that means sadly too many men are dying of prostate cancer,” said Rocco Rossi, President and CEO of Prostate Cancer Canada.

“But one thing that unites men is they spend hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars on their cars. So this is a wonderful rallying point,” added Rossi.

Rossi said the Rock the Road raffle was born two years ago, when the Trillium Automobile Dealers Association donated a customized Camaro to Prostate Cancer Canada, and asked if the organization might be interested in auctioning off the vehicle.

In the past, Rossi said the vehicles auctioned off in the raffle occurred in September during Prostate Cancer Awareness Month and on Father’s Day, but this year the vehicle will not only be showcased at the Canadian International Auto Show but it will also be raffled off there.

“We want people to come check under the hood of the Mustang and then check under the hood of themselves for prostate cancer,” said Rossi.

Tickets have sold out in previous years, and the majority of the 13,000 tickets have already sold out for 2015.
