New energy vehicle development was at the centre of this year’s NextGen Auto International Summit China, which took place in Shanghai on Dec. 9.

Speakers shared their insights on the latest trends in green energy vehicles, smart and lightweight ones, with more than 300 delegates from across the global supply chain.

The Summit also explored how vehicle and auto parts manufacturers can anticipate opportunities and challenges in the industry, said Richard Li, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co ltd., who helped to organize the summit along with the International Cooperation Centre of National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC-ICC).

“A key focus this year is to help vehicle manufacturers and auto parts suppliers to manage partnerships, so they can execute much needed reform,” said Li in a press release.

The Summit is held in conjunction with Automechanika Shanghai, which describes itself as the world’s second largest international trade fair for auto parts, accessories, equipment and services.
