Maria Stenström to replace John White as Managing Director of Volkswagen Group Canada

Volkswagen Group AG has announced that John P. White, the current Managing Director at Volkswagen Group Canada has been appointed to lead the group’s Australian operations as Managing Director Volkswagen Group and Brand Director Volkswagen Passenger Cars, effective April 1, 2013.

White takes over from Anke Köckler, who the company said is preparing for a new position. White’s successor as Managing Director Volkswagen Group Canada and Brand Director Volkswagen Canada is Maria Stenström, who currently heads up Volkswagen Passenger Cars sales in India and the Far East. With Stenström’s new move to Canada to replace White, her shoes will be filled by Dr. Wolf-Stefan Specht, who is currently head of the Central Europe Sales Region at Volkswagen Passenger Cars.

John White joined the Volkswagen Group in 1993. He became Vice President Operations Volkswagen Canada in 2003, and has also held responsibility for Volkswagen Group and Volkswagen brand business in Canada since 2008.

Maria Stenström moved to the Volkswagen Group from Volvo in 2011. She initially held responsibility for International Marketing Planning at Volkswagen, becoming Head of Volkswagen Passenger Cars sales in India and the Far East in December 2011. Before joining the Volkswagen Group, Stenström was Vice President Global Marketing at Volvo in Sweden.

Dr. Wolf-Stefan Specht has been with the Volkswagen Group since 2001. He has held various senior management posts since 2004, and has been Head of the Central Europe Sales Region at Volkswagen Passenger Cars since 2010.
