As the market leader in terms of hybrid vehicle sales (over 69,000 have been sold in Canada since the Prius first arrived here in 2000), Toyota is now expanding its Certified Used Vehicle program to encompass hybrid vehicles.

“Hybrids are as reliable, and as easy to own and drive, as conventional vehicles – so it’s natural to build on our program for certified pre-owned vehicles with this new initiative tailored to those built around Toyota’s proven hybrid technology. Add in the ability to view Toyota Dealer hybrid inventories online plus special financing rates, and it’s never been easier to shop for the right hybrid vehicle.”
As has been the case with the “traditional” Certified Used program, the hybrid one aims to give pre-owned vehicle shoppers peace of mind, a satisfying ownership experience and enhanced re-sale values for used Toyota gas/electric vehicles, which include the Prius family as well as the Camry and Highlander hybrids.
Vehicles selected for the Certified Used Hybrid Vehicle program will receive a special 134-point hybrid component inspection, extensive mechanical and cosmetic refurbishment (where applicable) and will come with a seven day/1,500 km exchange privilege, a free oil/filter change, membership in Club Toyota, a minimum of 12 months/20,000 km powertrain and roadside assistance coverage.
All Certified Used hybrids are also backed by Toyota’s warranty programs, which include eight-year / 160,000 km coverage on all hybrid components and honoured by more than 1,400 dealers in both Canada and the U.S.
