The next five years could reshape Canada’s automotive industry for decades to come, and that is the conversation organizers hope to spark at TalkAuto 2026.
With registration closing Oct. 26, Canadian Black Book is preparing to bring together automotive executives, dealers and industry professionals on Nov. 5 at Universal EventSpace in Vaughan, Ont.
This year’s theme, “The Next Five Years Will Define the Next Fifty,” reflects the significant changes facing the automotive sector, from shifting consumer expectations and emerging competitors to the future of vehicle financing and electrification.
One of the featured discussions, “What Will Canadians Buy, Finance, & Value? The Dealer of 2030,” will explore how consumer preferences and dealership operations could evolve over the coming years.
The panel will feature Ryan Thompson, Managing Partner at Ernie Dean Chevrolet Buick GMC; Haley Langford, General Sales Manager at Orangeville Honda; and Kevin Andrews, CEO of AUTO|ONE Group and Corpfinance International Limited (CFI).
Other discussions will examine tariffs and the changing manufacturer landscape, new global competitors entering the Canadian automotive market, and the role of women in shaping the industry’s future.
The event will also feature perspectives from automotive manufacturers, including Amy Fleming, President and CEO of Mazda Canada, and Trevor Longley, President of Stellantis Canada.
For Canadian dealers, the discussions come at a time when changing market conditions, new technologies and evolving consumer expectations are influencing business decisions across the industry.
TalkAuto 2026 will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5, at Universal EventSpace, located at 6250 Highway 7 in Vaughan. Registration costs $200 per attendee, with the deadline set for Oct. 26. The full agenda and registration details are available through the official TalkAuto website.
The conference will also include a Canadian market update from Daniel Ross, Director of Strategic Market Insights at Canadian Black Book, and a discussion on tariffs, free trade and the changing manufacturer landscape featuring Brendan Sweeney, President and CEO of the Pacific Manufacturing Association of Canada.
