Reiner Braun, COO, AWIN Group of Dealerships
AWIN Group of Dealerships has appointed a familiar name in the Canadian automotive industry to help steer its next phase of growth.
The Greater Toronto Area dealer group announced this month that Reiner Braun, former President and CEO of BMW Group Canada, has been appointed chief operating officer. According to AWIN, Braun will oversee day-to-day operations and help execute the group’s growth strategy, including integrating new acquisitions and developing systems to support its expanding network.
“Bringing Reiner on board as COO is a decisive move for the future of AWIN,” said Dr. Sylvester Chuang, Co-founder and Chairman of AWIN Group of Dealerships, in a statement. “The COO role is central to the transformation we are now driving — sharpening operational performance, scaling our platform and setting the standard in Canada’s premium segment.”
Braun brings more than 25 years of international automotive experience to the position. He most recently served as President and CEO of BMW Group Latin America, based in Mexico City.
Before that, he became President and CEO of BMW Group Canada in January 2020, leading the Canadian organization through pandemic-era production constraints and supply chain disruptions. He also helped prepare BMW’s Canadian retail network for the automaker’s next generation of electric vehicles.
Prior to that, he joined BMW in 1999 and held senior sales and marketing positions across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and China.
Braun said his focus will include improving performance and strengthening the systems and processes needed for continued growth.
