Some of Canada’s most popular used vehicles are moving off dealer lots faster than they were a year ago, while consumers are also seeing lower asking prices across much of the top-selling list.
August data from CarGurus shows every vehicle among the 10 fastest-moving used models spent less time on dealer lots than in August 2025.
The Subaru Crosstrek led the group at an average of 35 days, followed by the Ford F-150 at 36 days and Honda HR-V at 36.6 days. The Toyota RAV4 Hybrid averaged 37 days, with CarGurus reporting its days to turn improved by about a week from a year earlier.
Fastest-moving used vehicle in August 2026:

- Toyota RAV4 Hybrid: 37 days
- Subaru Forester: 37.6 days
- Honda Civic: 37.7 days
- Toyota Corolla: 39.1 days
- Toyota RAV4: 39.7 days
- Mazda CX-5: 39.8 days
- Subaru Outback: 39.8 days
Sales rankings, meanwhile, continued to favour pickups. The Ford F-150 remained Canada’s top-selling used vehicle in August, followed by the RAM 1500 and Nissan Rogue. Each model in the top 10 recorded at least 1,500 sales during the month.
“The F-150 and RAM 1500 continue to lead the rankings, while SUVs and crossovers make up half of August’s top 10,” said David Undercoffler, head of consumer insights at CarGurus.
The Toyota RAV4 climbed to fourth place from sixth in July, while the Ford Escape entered the top 10.
Prices also moved lower for seven of the 10 best-selling models compared with August 2025. The Honda CR-V recorded the largest decline, down 8.8 per cent to $25,614, followed by the Honda Civic, down 8.1 per cent to $20,571, and Ford Escape, down 7.9 per cent to $18,701.
At the other end, the F-150’s average listing price increased 2.3 per cent to $44,531, while the RAV4 rose 2.1 per cent to $30,459.
