Affordable, economical vehicles were among the fastest-moving used models in Canada in June, while several of the country’s most popular nameplates posted strong sales gains, according to new CarGurus data.
The Honda Fit recorded the shortest average time on dealer lots at 30.3 days, followed by the Toyota Yaris at 32.4 days and Toyota RAV4 Hybrid at 32.5 days.
Other models among the 10 fastest movers included the Nissan Frontier, Subaru Crosstrek, Toyota Venza, Toyota Corolla Cross, Mazda CX-5 and Toyota RAV4. The GMC Sierra 2500HD was the only large, higher-priced vehicle on the list.
“The fastest-moving vehicles in June had a clear value-oriented tilt,” said David Undercoffler, Head of Consumer Insights at CarGurus. “Models such as the Honda Fit, Toyota Yaris, Subaru Crosstrek and Toyota Corolla Cross show that Canadian buyers are acting quickly when affordable, economical options become available.”
The data provides dealers with another indication that well-priced, fuel-efficient inventory remains in demand, particularly as affordability continues to influence purchasing decisions.
Among the highest-volume used vehicles, the Nissan Rogue posted the largest year-over-year sales gain in June, rising 50.6 per cent. Chevrolet Silverado 1500 sales increased 29.3 per cent, while GMC Sierra 1500 sales rose 29.0 per cent.
Used Toyota RAV4 sales increased 18.1 per cent, followed by the Hyundai Elantra at 15.3 per cent and Ford F-150 at 12.5 per cent. Each of the top 10 models recorded at least 1,500 sales during the month.
Undercoffler said rising prices for new versions of many popular models are helping redirect some consumers toward the used market.
“As prices for new versions of these vehicles continue to rise, more shoppers are turning to the used market, helping drive stronger demand,” he said.
CarGurus also found wide variations in used vehicle pricing during the first half of 2026.
The Nissan Armada posted the largest increase in average list price between January and June, rising 25.6 per cent to $54,867. The Audi A5 increased 17.5 per cent to $34,128, while the Hyundai Kona Electric rose 14.1 per cent to $29,337.
At the other end of the market, the Audi A5 Sportback recorded the largest decline, falling 17.0 per cent to an average list price of $31,346. The Acura TLX declined 16.9 per cent to $23,345, while the Jeep Patriot was down 16.0 per cent to $8,496.
CarGurus said some of the largest increases were seen among used EVs and large SUVs, while several of the steepest declines involved discontinued nameplates with fewer newer examples entering the used market.
The analysis was based on used vehicles listed on CarGurus in Canada. Fastest-moving models required at least 100 sales, while the pricing analysis included models with a minimum of 100 active listings.
