Hyundai adds World Cup theme

Hyundai Auto Canada has introduced a FIFA World Cup 2026 display theme for select vehicles, bringing tournament-themed graphics and animations to drivers ahead of next year’s global soccer event.

The free software package is available for the Hyundai IONIQ 9 and Palisade through the company’s Bluelink Store and can be downloaded using the myHyundai app. The theme will remain available until Oct. 19, 2026.

According to Hyundai, the display package transforms the vehicle’s digital cluster and infotainment screen with World Cup-inspired visuals. It also features animations of Atlas and Spot, the robots developed by Boston Dynamics, which appear during vehicle start-up, shutdown and on select navigation screens.

The initiative forms part of Hyundai Motor’s global “Next Starts Now” campaign, which connects the FIFA World Cup 2026 to the automaker’s focus on innovation, software-defined vehicles and robotics.

“With Canada set to host FIFA World Cup™ matches for the very first time, this initiative allows us to connect Canadians with the excitement of the tournament in a uniquely Hyundai way,” said Steve Flamand, president and CEO of Hyundai Auto Canada.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 will be jointly hosted by Canada, the United States and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, with Canadian matches scheduled in Toronto and Vancouver.

Hyundai said the display theme demonstrates how software-enabled features can personalize the in-vehicle experience while creating new opportunities for automakers to engage with customers after a vehicle has been purchased.

The company also said it plans to deploy Atlas and Spot robots at select World Cup venues to support fan engagement and operational activities during the tournament.
