A ribbon-cutting ceremony for a publicly available Level 3 electric vehicle charging station was recently held in Scarborough, Ontario.

That is according to Jule, which offers EV charging and battery energy solutions. In a news release, the company said the station was developed and will be managed by Mitsui Canada, a wholly-owned Canadian subsidiary of Mitsui &Co. headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.

The pilot projects are equipped with Jule’s Level 3 charging equipment, which was hosted at Toyota Canada’s headquarters at 1 Toyota Place in Scarborough, Ontario.

“Jule’s technology offers a real-world solution to two of the most pressing barriers to EV adoption: charger accessibility and grid limitations,” said Carmine Pizzurro, President of Jule, in a statement. “We are excited to partner with organizations like Mitsui Canada to support a sustainable transportation future.”

Jule said Mitsui hopes the station will help strengthen Canada’s EV charging network. The station features four Level 3 fast charging pedestals and is powered and supported by Jule’s battery storage technology. That’s meant to add efficiency, reliability, and grid-friendly charging.

“Continued investment in charging infrastructure is key to Canada’s transition toward electrified mobility, and we are proud to host Mitsui’s charging station,” stated Leslie Miller, CFO and COO of Toyota Canada, in a statement. “This project will bring more reliable and accessible EV charging to the community surrounding our head office.”
