GM’s Oshawa plant to start producing pickups later this year

The General Motors Oshawa Assembly plant in Ontario will begin production of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra light-duty pickup trucks in late 2021, after a nearly two-year hiatus. “In a statement issued earlier this week, the company said the investment would hit $1.3 billion and that almost 1,700 new jobs would be created,” said Wheels.ca. “The new spending will cover items such as a new body shop and flexible assembly module, along with massive plant infrastructure upgrades.” (Source: Wheels.ca).
