UAW argues EV tax incentives should require U.S. assembly

Along the lines of the “Buy America” philosophy that carried over from the Trump Administration, the United Auto Workers (UAW) said it wants the tax incentives for electric vehicles revised to require U.S. assembly if those vehicles are to qualify. “The UAW is working with the Biden administration and Congress to make sure that the final legislation extending electric vehicle subsidies are clear that those investments subsidize the jobs of U.S. workers,” said UAW Vice President Terry Dittes.” (Source: Reuters) Read the original story.
