The Canada-U.S.-Mexico trade agreement (CUSMA) launched on Canada Day, officially replacing the precious 26 year-old NAFTA. Global News said the flow of goods among the three nation members, worth around $1.2 trillion in 2019, declined in April to the lowest level in more than a decade. As part of the new agreement North American autos content, built in the region, must increase to 75% from 62.5%. There are also new mandates to use North American steel and aluminum.
