Montreal, Que.-based Groupe Touchette, a Canadian-owned tire distributor, is opening a new 50,000 square-foot distribution centre in Cambridge, Ont., with a capacity to hold a maximum of 73,000 tires.
The new tire distribution centre will also cater to surrounding cities such as London, Kitchener, Waterloo, Guelph and more, allowing these areas to benefit from a wider tire and brand inventory, along with better delivery service.
“This distribution centre will enable us to cover a bigger territory, provide better service, better access to products, and a faster delivery capacity,” said Larry Scheweertman, Warehouse Manager for the Cambridge distribution centre. “Furthermore, it creates seven permanent positions.”
The Cambridge distribution centre is also meant to reinforce the company’s presence in the province, and is part of its development plan to gain a firm foothold across Canada.
