NADA to discuss 2019 auto sales forecast

Canadian car dealers that are interested in learning more about the 2019 new-vehicle sales forecast for the U.S. will have the opportunity to do so on December 13, 2018, via a conference call issued by the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA).

During the conference, set to take place at 2:30 p.m. ET, NADA Senior Economist Patrick Manzi will provide “an outlook of the macroeconomic factors that will impact auto retailing next year, as well as highlight the key sales indicators and trends driving auto sales in 2018 and next year,” said NADA in a news release.

The association’s chairman Wes Lutz, president of Extreme Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep-Ram in Jackson, Mich., will offer a dealer perspective on industry trends that are impacting auto sales.

The conference call comes at a time when big changes are on the horizon for the North American auto industry, and many factors still in play have the potential to disrupt the sector. This includes the recent signing of the USMCA agreement and the threat from U.S. President Donald Trump to pull out of NAFTA. Possible changes in emissions standards and current tariffs — whether coming from China or imposed by the U.S. — all have the potential to impact new car sales.

Dealers interested in joining the conference can do so by dialing 800.895.3361. The conference ID is NADA.

A Q&A session will follow.
