With the holidays quickly approaching, dealers are preparing their charitable events, as they do every year, to give back to those in need in their communities.
The Richmond Auto Mall dealership in British Columbia is one example: they have organized festivities to help raise money as part of their annual Windows of Hope event, set to take place on November 21. Now in its 15th year, their signature event that has already raised more than a quarter of a million dollars for the Richmond Christmas Fund.
“The dealerships, their suppliers and other supporters annually pledge sponsorship dollars to the event which benefits more than 2,000 needy families over the holidays via the Richmond Christmas Fund,” said Richmond Auto Mall in a news release. “Last year’s event raised a record $36,275, the Christmas Fund’s top contribution once again, thanks to 283 community volunteers and 87 sponsors.”
The dealership is also preparing for its annual food bank drive, which raised $40,307 in 2017 and received a truckload of food items.
For 2018, the Richmond Auto Mall also plans to introduced a new fundraising activity to the mall — known as A Not So Silent Night, and which will take place on November 28 at the Cowell Group’s new Audi Richmond showroom. The event will feature food, liquor, live music, and a silent live auction that may include a virtual reality car racing simulator as one of the big draws.
“We’re thrilled to be hosting A Not So Silent Night at the Auto Mall,” said Richmond Auto Mall General Manager Gail Terry. “It’s shaping up to be a fabulous event! With Windows of Hope, the Food Bank drive, A Not So Silent Night and the other projects all our individual dealerships are involved in, Santa is going to need a new bigger sleigh!”
