Digital marketing provider Search Optics has named former Jaguar Land Rover executive David Cox as president of the company’s North American operations, according to a news release.
In his new role with Search Optics, he will be responsible for the U.S. and Canadian markets and will be based out of the company’s Detroit office. Cox will report to David Ponn, CEO.
“David is a visionary business leader whose international background aligns perfectly with our global focus and with the Search Optics value proposition, emphasizing innovation and results,” said Ponn. “His experience stands out for its breadth and depth, spanning software as a service (Saas), Connected Retail and eCommerce and Artificial Intelligence (AI) across the automotive vertical. We are very fortunate to have him on our leadership team.”
Cox began his career at Jaguar Land Rover and remained with the carmaker for eight years, during which he served in a variety of marketing and sales positions — including senior executive roles for global automotive digital marketing and software ventures. He provided OEMs and dealers with retailing websites, internet vehicle locators and online service booking platforms. Most recently, Cox was the Head of Connected Car and IoT for SaaS startup Connect-Auto, a company rooted in the e-commerce/connected car industry.
“Shifting dynamics in the automotive market demand continuous innovation in digital marketing eCommerce and customer experience,” says Cox. “Backed by the strength of our talent and the power of our technology and data-driven platforms, we continue to change the way automotive digital marketing gets done in North America and beyond. It’s an exciting time to be at Search Optics.”
