Koch Ford rolls out new e-commerce website tools

Alberta’s Koch Automotive Group has announced the addition of several new features to its e-commerce dealership website that will allow car buyers to write and publish reviews about the vehicles they purchase. They can also track prices, create user accounts and save a vehicle to their personal wish list.

“Last year we embraced e-commerce technologies, creating a true 24/7 dealership experience online,” said Koch Ford Assistant General Manager, Jeremy Koch. “We wanted to empower consumers as much as possible and create a true convenience focused experience. To do this, Koch implemented new tools, which are common in travel and e-commerce websites, but rare in the OEM dealer world.”

The news follows the recent announcement of a Koch Lincoln dealership in Alberta that plans to roll out a new program later this year enabling consumers to schedule a new vehicle test drive directly from the company website. The move from both dealerships, and from the Koch Automotive Group in general, clearly points in the direction of a more digital and convenient car buying experience for consumers.

Some of the more interesting features of the Koch Ford website include the ability for users to view the purchase history of their vehicle, including service and maintenance receipts. Customers can also ask short questions and receive an answer, which helps reduce the “pressure to buy” issue that is common in lead-generation forms. Car buyers can also suggest a reasonable price for the vehicle they wish to purchase, and will receive an alert if the car in question drops to the requested price within 30 days.

The new features will be available starting this month at Edmonton’s Koch Ford Lincoln, DK Ford in Leduc, and Koch Ford in Athabasca.
