Susann Mayhead, President & CEO, Mercedes-Benz Canada (CNW Group/Mercedes-Benz Canada Inc.)

Mercedes-Benz Canada has named Susann Mayhead as its new President and CEO, according to a news release from the company. Mayhead, in the position since May 1, succeeds Andreas Tetzloff, who is leaving the organization at his own request after more than 30 years with Mercedes-Benz.

“We are excited to welcome Susann as President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Canada. She brings extensive international leadership experience, strong financial and commercial expertise, and a people-centric approach,” said Adam Chamberlain, President and CEO of MBUSA, in a statement. He added that he is  “confident she is well positioned to lead the organization into its next phase of growth.”

In her new role, Mayhead will oversee Mercedes-Benz passenger cars, Mercedes-AMG, Mercedes-Maybach and Mercedes-Benz Vans in Canada. She will also lead approximately 250 employees and manage a national network of 57 authorized dealerships.

Mayhead joined Daimler Financial Services in 2000 and has held senior roles across finance, customer service, operations and sales in Europe, the United States and Canada. Most recently, she served as a member of the board of management for human relations at Mercedes-Benz Mobility AG.

Her appointment comes as the automaker continues to operate in a competitive luxury market while managing evolving product strategies, including electric vehicle offerings.

On the departure of Tetzloff, MBUSA’s CEO said “we are extremely grateful to Andreas for more than 30 years of exceptional leadership at Mercedes-Benz and his impact on the Canadian organization will be felt for years to come.
