Software development company Mobials has launched a digital disclosure tool that aims to save dealers money by helping them reduce their costs.
Known as AutoVerify, the new tool will allow car dealers to verify whether a vehicle has been in an accident or not without the need to run a vehicle history report. The company is currently searching for dealer participants in Ontario to test the system, which they can do by registering for the pilot program by April 30.
“Roughly 30 per cent of vehicles in Canada have been in an accident,” said Mobials co-founder Marty Meadows. “Dealers need to ask themselves why they are running vehicle history reports on 100 percent of their cars, when they know that only a third have been involved in an accident.”
To determine whether or not the vehicle has been in an accident, dealers will have to input their VIN number into the system, and the AutoVerify tool will provide them with a yes or no answer. The the dealer receives a “yes” answer, then they can pay for the VHR to receive more details, according to the Mobials news release.
The tool will be showcased for dealers during the ACE Automotive Conference & Expo in Niagara Falls, Ont., this week.
