DMT hires former BMW marketing expert

Steve Ambeau, BMW Group’s former Global Head of Digital Marketing for the MINI brand, has joined DMT Development Systems Group Inc. as the company’s new Vice President of Marketing. The move is part of DMT’s plan to hire more staff and extend its product and geographic reach.

Located in the Winnipeg, Man. office, Ambeau will be in charge of pushing the company’s lead management systems to the global automotive industry, while also opening new industry sectors.

“So much of Steve’s brilliant career has been spent in digital marketing that it’s hard to imagine anyone better suited to the task of expanding our global reach,” says Glen Demetrioff, President and Chief Executive of DMT. “He’s been in the position of having to manage the most fundamental change in automobile marketing in decades. He’s been in the position of our clients who have to re-invent auto marketing for a new era. No one understands the challenges better.”

Prior to his role at BMW, Ambeau touched on agency work and the financial services sector. The idea of moving from consumer to business-to-business marketing doesn’t seem to phase him when considering the strategies developed for manufacturers, their national sales organizations and dealers.

“The focus on the end customer is the same,” he says. “In this case, we’re marketing best-in-class services and tools that help businesses create a stronger overall customer experience.”

DMT is a provider of SaaS software and systems. Its products are meant to help improve lead generation and customer relationship management, according to the company.
