EcoRun returns for 5th installment

EcoRun_Header_16Automotive journalists will once again put a variety of eco-friendly vehicles to the test in the fifth installment of EcoRun, an annual event held by Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC).

The event is meant to educate shoppers about alternative vehicles, as well as provide accurate fuel economy numbers.

On June 1, journalists from across the country will converge in Toronto for a two-day driving journey through Southern Ontario that will end in Ottawa. Along the way they will make stops in Oshawa, Cobourg, Belleville, Kingston and Brockville.

During the drive, journalists will test 28 eco-friendly vehicles ranging from subcompacts to pickup trucks that include a mix of pure electrics, hybrids, hydrogen fuel cells, diesels and fuel-efficient internal combustion engines.

All of these vehicles will be driven on real-world road conditions to test them for fuel efficiency and to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, said AJAC.

The full list of vehicles can be viewed here.
