Employees from NorthStar Ford Group Canada dealerships banded together to help their local communities.
Through the month of October, staff collected almost 6,500 pounds of non-perishable food items and raised more than $3,000 for local food banks as part of the We Scare Hunger campaign.
“This campaign is about meeting the needs in the community and getting food and monetary donations into the hands of those who need it most. I am overwhelmed by the continuous support of our community and hope that NorthStar Ford Group can continue this tradition with We Scare Hunger for many years to come,” said Marty Giles, dealer principal of NorthStar Ford Group, in a written release.
“My team actually went door-to-door on their own time to do this. How’s that for awesome? We do a lot of charity work in our community, however, this is truly an employee-led campaign, and I am just another member of the team. They do this because they believe it and initiate it not because I tell them to,” Giles added.
NorthStar Ford Group Canada said the donations from the We Scare Hunger food campaign went to the Wood Buffalo Food Bank Association, Cochrane Activettes and Stoney Tribal Administration.
NorthStar Ford Group Canada operates in Fort McMurray, Calgary, Cochrane and Fort McKay.
