The Nissan Canada Foundation is holding its second annual “Food for Thought” summer food drive between June 21 and July 31, 2015, and three Mississauga-based Nissan dealerships are involved.
To bring awareness to this initiative and the ongoing need for food in Mississauga, Ontario, the Foundation has created a video series featuring its dealer partners, 401-Dixie Nissan, Direct Nissan, and Woodchester Nissan, as well as representatives from The Mississauga Food Bank.
“We chose to partner with The Mississauga Food Bank and the Nissan Canada Foundation because frankly, it’s the right thing to do,” said Glen Peacock, General Manager at Woodchester Nissan. “There’s a lot of need in Mississauga, there’s a lot of people that need the food bank daily, and that’s why we chose to help.”
Donations to the Summer Food Drive can be dropped off at Nissan Canada’s head office or at any of the dealer partners’ locations.
One of Nissan’s global visions is “To improve the quality of life in the communities in which Nissan operates”. On April 4, 2014, the Nissan Canada Foundation illustrated this by renewing its commitment to helping fight hunger in Mississauga by deepening its relationship with The Mississauga Food Bank.
