NorthStar Ford Group helps local charities

NorthStar-300NorthStar Ford Group Canada raised more than $102,000 at its recent annual charity poker tournament. The proceeds were split evenly between the Northern Lights Health Foundation and the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation.

“We are so grateful to our sponsors, players and donors for making this tournament a success again. Our health care professionals have an incredibly tough job, and we are more than happy to do our small part to give them the best tools we can to do their jobs,” said Mary Giles, dealer principal at NorthStar Ford Group, in a written release.

Proceeds will go towards research and palliative care services in the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre. The Alberta Children’s Hospital funds will go towards purchasing state-of-the-art equipment, like cardiorespiratory monitors and family-centred programs.

Both organizations received their cheques for $51,000 earlier in April.

Some of the money came from the second and third place winners of the tournament, who each granted half of their winnings back to the event for the two charities.
