DSMA has appointed Farah Mohammed as director of industry relations for Canada, expanding its focus on strengthening connections between dealerships and original equipment manufacturers.

In the newly created role, Mohammed will act as the primary liaison with OEMs, supporting clients as they work to improve manufacturer relationships and identify new growth opportunities across the automotive sector. She brings more than 15 years of experience in the industry, with a background spanning regulation, compliance, education, media and stakeholder relations. DSMA said her experience positions her to help clients navigate an increasingly complex operating environment.

Mohammed previously worked at the Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council, where she developed relationships across dealerships, OEMs and government stakeholders. Her work there focused on connecting industry participants and supporting collaboration across different parts of the automotive ecosystem.

“Strong relationships and trusted industry insight are critical in today’s automotive landscape,” the company said in a statement announcing the appointment.

DSMA said Mohammed is known for a relationship-driven approach and for advancing collaboration within the sector. In her new role, she will focus on connecting clients with opportunities and supporting long-term growth strategies.

The appointment comes as dealerships continue to face evolving market conditions and growing pressure to strengthen ties with manufacturers and industry partners.
