The Global Automakers of Canada (GAC) will host an event on mental health awareness for automotive industry players on Tuesday, May 13, between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. EDT.
On the Road to Resilience: Mental Health Awareness for Automotive Professionals will be held in-person at Dentons in Toronto and it will be live-streamed. The event will feature a moderated panel of three speakers who will share their personal mental health journeys.
“By creating space for honest dialogue, we hope to encourage a culture where mental health is prioritized and where seeking support is seen as a strength, not a barrier,” said GAC in its update. “Let’s support each other in building a culture of understanding, empathy, and resilience within the automotive industry!”
Christina Fuda, President and Co-Founder of The Mental Health Consultants will moderate the panel. Speakers include David C. Adams, President and CEO of GAC; Ditty Garg, Senior Manager of Human Resources at Subaru Canada; and Mark Holland, MP of Ajax and Former Minister of Health of Canada.
The speakers will discuss the challenges they have faced, how they navigated through them, and the impact these challenges have had on both their work and personal lives.
On the Road to Resilience is being sponsored by the Royal Bank of Canada, Universus (publisher of Canadian auto dealer), Automotive News Canada, and Dentons. Dealers and other industry players interested in attending the event can register here: GACautomotivementalhealth.eventbrite.com/.
Dentons is located at 77 King Street West 5th Floor Toronto, ON M5K 2A1. The event will be in the TD Centre, North Tower.
