Volvo’s new partnership aims to advance snowboarding in Canada

Volvo Cars Canada announced a partnership with Canada Snowboard that will allow the OEM to connect with Canadians and families who have a passion for winter sports and adventure.

In a news release, the organization said the goal is to engage Canadians across the country and help foster the growth of snowboarding from the grassroots level to the national team. The partnership is meant to reflect Volvo Cars Canada’s shared commitments to safety, sustainability and community.

“As a brand deeply rooted in safety, sustainability and family, we are so excited to partner with a community like Canada Snowboard that aligns with our values,” said Aleiza Alerta, Director of Marketing & Communications at Volvo Car Canada in a statement.

Alerta added that the partnership allows them to celebrate “both our Canadian and Scandinavian love for winter sports while embracing the joy of family and outdoor adventure.”

Both companies will be working together to help advance the development of snowboarding in Canada through both grassroots and national scale activations. The OEM will be supporting key Canada Snowboard activations by having a presence at major events and community programs like World Cups, the GROM snowboarding series, and ELLEboard (to engage with the female snowboarding community).

“With Volvo’s support, we can grow the sport in Canada, through grassroots programs that inspire the next generation to national events that showcase the best in snowboarding — all while building a stronger, safer future for our athletes and the sport,” said Dustin Heise, CEO of Canada Snowboard, in a statement.

The benefit of the partnership also includes Volvo’s full lineup of vehicles that will transport Canadian families to and from the hill.
