Reynolds invests in Skaivision to add efficiency to service departments

Reynolds and Reynolds has announced that it is investing in, and collaboration with, the creator of “the first” smart space Computer Vision AI software for automotive dealerships: Skaivision.

Computer Vision AI is a field of artificial intelligence or computer science. It allows a computer to both analyze and identify visual information from images and videos, such as objects and people. Reynolds said Skaivision helps dealerships use video technology to find and get rid of bottlenecks in the service department thanks to AI and strategically placed cameras.

“We’re thrilled to invest in Skaivision,” said Kasi Edwards, Executive Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development at Reynolds, in a statement. . “Their cutting-edge technology has the ability to help dealers get even more out of their service departments.”

She added that every tenth of an hour is billable, and that Skaivision “helps shine a light on dead bay time.” In addition to helping to remove bottlenecks, Reynolds said Skaivision’s AI technology can find and source potential used vehicle inventory from customer visits to the service department.

Skaivision’s tools are meant to add to the efficiency gains that Reynolds’ offers with its own products, helping dealers do away with any reliance on manual entry for vehicle tracking. “Imagine marrying the visual reality of dealership interactions with the software tasks. Very powerful in terms of time savings and transparency,” said Skaivision CEO Mark Queen in a statement.

Reynolds is also working with Skaivision on future integrations that they believe will create more opportunities for dealerships.
