Amid rising living costs, Toyota Canada has announced that it will donate $100,000 to Breakfast Club of Canada’s nationwide movement to provide nutritious school breakfast programs for children.

The OEM said it expanded its nationwide effort to address food security over the last few years. In a news release, it said Breakfast Club of Canada estimates that there are still more than 800,000 children who need the organization’s support in nearly 3,000 schools throughout Canada.

“When we think about equal opportunity and access for today’s youngest generation, it really starts with that first meal in the morning,” said Leslie Miller, VP of Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer at Toyota Canada, in a statement.

She added that: “sending a child to school knowing they will have access to nutritious food lightens the load for families and helps provide a stable learning environment where every child can thrive.”

For its part, the Breakfast Club of Canada said it deeply appreciated the donation. “Their support is crucial in helping children begin their day with a nutritious breakfast, and their commitment will have a meaningful and lasting impact on their lives,” said Paul Lethbridge, Director of Corporate and Community Giving, Breakfast Club of Canada.
