Kelley Blue Book recently announced the main brands, categories, and top 10 winners of its U.S. 2024 Best Resale Value Awards, which aims to recognize vehicles for their projected retained value through the initial five-year ownership period.
Toyota, now for the third consecutive year, took top honours by winning Best Resale Value: Brand, while its sibling Lexus won Best Resale Value: Luxury Brand. For the top 10 cars the Chevrolet Corvette made the list, along with the Ford Bronco and Maverick, Mercedes-Benz G-Class, Porsche 718 Cayman, and the Toyota 4Runner, GR Supra, Prius, Tacoma and Tundra.
“The automotive landscape continues to change rapidly, with more new introductions of brands and models with varying powertrains each year,” said Rheia Szymczyk, Senior Manager of Valuation Operations for Kelley Blue Book, in a statement.
She added that consumers now have more electric vehicle options, such as plug-ins and hybrids, and that KBB continues to modify its Best Resale Value Awards categories to properly reflect the marketplace. “This year marks the first Best Resale Value Award for EV startup Rivian, which is taking home an award for its successful R1S electric SUV.”
