AutoTrader reveals the five Grand Prix winners of its 2024 awards

AutoTrader announced the five Grand Prix winners of its 2024 AutoTrader Awards, which they describe as a celebration of automotive excellence meant to recognize the best vehicles for Canadians.

“These Grand Prix winners received the most votes out of all category winners from our expert jury and represent the best of the best,” said Jodi Lai, AutoTrader’s Editor-in-Chief, in a statement. “As part of AutoTrader’s commitment to Canadian car buyers, we hope they can feel confident with these expert choices, as they all raise the bar in an important way.”

The Toyota Prius/Prius Prime was awarded the Best Overall Car award, while the Genesis GV70 / Electrified GV70 received the award for Best Overall SUV. Ford Maverick took the win for Best Overall Truck, the Toyota Prius Prime for Best Overall Green Car, and Toyota won the award for Canada’s Most Trusted Car Brand.

“Congratulations to these five Grand Prix winners,” said Lai. “Each of these winners go above and beyond what’s expected and offer Canadians something they can feel confident with, and empowering car shoppers is hugely important to us at AutoTrader.”

More than 20 automotive journalists from across Canada voted on their choice of best vehicle in each segment — vehicles they felt confident in recommending to their own family and friends. Judges had to consider a range of criteria when voting, including value, innovation, safety, driver satisfaction, overall excellence, and more.
