Peter Smith GM Chev Cadillac honours Peter Smith’s legacy

Peter Smith GM Chev Cadillac, a dealership in Belleville, Ontario, has just donated a brand new Cadillac CT4 Sport to the Belleville General Hospital Foundation in honour of former dealer principal Peter Smith. The car, which is worth $48,000, will be raffled off in the foundation’s Car4Cancer draw, the proceeds of which will support the hospital’s Dr. Douglas A. MacIntosh Cancer Clinic.

Vicki Smith, wife of the late Peter Smith, negotiated the donation with The Peter Smith GM Chev Cadillac’s new dealer principal, Cole Allinger. Allinger agreed and the donation was made in honour of Peter Smith’s legacy.

Allinger took over as the new dealer principal of Peter Smith GM Chevrolet Cadillac in May of this year following the sale of the dealership to Canada One Auto Group after Peter Smith’s death. At that point in time, Allinger told local news outlet Inquinte that the name of the dealership would not change in the foreseeable future and that the family atmosphere would remain, with Vicki remaining as head of the dealership’s charitable committee and Peter Smith’s son Matthew continuing his role as marketing manager.

The late Peter Smith was a board member and ongoing supporter of the Belleville General Hospital Foundation, which makes this donation a fitting tribute to his legacy.
