The federal government has announced an investment in cutting-edge electric vehicle (EV) software made by Montreal’s Mogile Technologies.
The software will give automakers, dealerships and consumers access to up-to-date, customized EV information; OEMs and dealers will be able to provide customers with a tailored buying experience, and customers will be able to browse EV models, maps of public chargers near them, and obtain current information on the cost of home charging stations and applicable rebates.
“We’re helping automakers and their dealerships simplify EV adoption,” said Simon Ouellette, CEO of ChargeHub/Mogile Technologies, in a news release from Natural Resources Canada. “When a potential EV buyer is provided with accurate and personalized information in a timely manner, EV sales happen faster because this knowledge removes many barriers to EV adoption.”
Already in use by one national automaker, the software is currently being used by hundreds of dealerships and more than 10,000 interactions have been recorded since last March. According to Natural Resources Canada, “Now, other automakers are getting on board to use the software to support their dealers through their EV adoption.”
Federal funding of $23,689 is being provided to Mogile Technologies through Natural Resources Canada’s Zero-Emission Vehicle Awareness Initiative. Mogile Technologies is adding their own funds, bringing the total cost of their software project to $47,379.
