British Columbia’s OpenRoad Toyota Richmond is featuring a massive new art installation — a mural created by Vancouver-based studio Chairman Ting representing the “essence and iconic history” of the OEM brand, according to an OpenRoad Auto Group news release.
“We wanted to showcase a bold art installation befitting of the impressive scale of our new Toyota dealership, which is now the largest in Canada,” said Dimitri Kotsalis, Vice President of Regional Operations at OpenRoad Auto Group, adding that the studio “masterfully executed our vision for a powerful artistic representation of Toyota that features one of our most iconic models, the Toyota Supra.”
The installation measures 63 x 13 feet and spans three walls. The painting was done by Carson Ting and Chairman Ting artist Mark Illing. OpenRoad Auto Group said the 3D mural gives an artistic nod to Toyota’s history in motorsports, along with subtle references to Japan, where Toyota is headquartered.
Chairman Ting is an art and design studio that was founded by Carson Ting in 2012. The studio has worked on projects for a number of global brands, including Microsoft, Nike, Mercedes-Benz Daimler AG and Red Bull Canada, to name a few.
