Car collector launches 24/7 online auction platform for Canadians

Car collector Matt Blair has launched RallyAutoAuctions.com, a 24/7 online auction platform for Canadian sellers.

The idea stems from the recognition that some Canadian vehicles were being rejected on American-based auction marketplaces, according to a company news release.

“With the borders closed due to COVID-19, there are very few places for Canadians to present their vehicles to an audience of enthusiasts,” said Blair. “I’ve always tried to support our Canadian car culture. Building the Rally Auction platform is just another way I could do that.”

The company said the platform differs from its American counterparts in that it offers free listings to sellers. It also only relies on a relatively small buyer’s fee to keep the site running.

Vehicle listings are also written by the team at no cost, and they provide recommendations to reserve a vehicle, and instructions on photography and on how to promote a vehicle during the auction. The team has also lined-up photographers across Canada to shoot seller’s cars if need be.

If the auction is a success, the buyer and seller are provided with the necessary contact information to complete the transaction in accordance with the rules and regulations of their respective province.

“Being a car collector myself, I think it only makes sense that I test the platform on my own vehicles first,” said Blair. “We’re also actively on-boarding dealers and public listings as well.”

The platform currently has an audience of 2,300 followers and subscribers, according to the company.
