Montreal auto show goes virtual for 2021

The 2021 Montreal International Auto Show (MIAS) will be a virtual rather than in-person event next year, taking place between January 20-24.

The event is traditionally held at the Montreal Convention Centre (Palais des congrès de Montréal) in Quebec, but uncertainty around the pandemic and health measures surrounding indoor public gatherings of more than 250 people influenced the final decision.

“It would have been easy to make the decision to just skip a year, but we wanted to keep this tradition going in January despite the absence of the in-person event,” said Francois Boisvert, 2021 MIAS President.

“Our goal, above all, is to stay true to our mission, and to continue offering Quebecers, a platform that allows them to discover a complete offer of the automotive market, and assist them in their mobility choices, all presented in one place!” said Boisvert.

The virtual event will offer a more accessible experience that will showcase exhibitors on a 3D floor plan, which means users can search exhibitors, new vehicle models, OEM offers, special promotions, and live chat with representatives.

There will also be a special feature program that will include things like an Electric Zone, which will be unveiled in the coming weeks on montrealautoshow.com.

The five-day event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. January 20 to 24, and is free-of-charge.
