Vauxhall plant reopening delayed over low consumer demand

Vauxhall’s plans to reopen its Ellesmere Port plant in Cheshire, England could be delayed to later this year, past September. The OEM’s parent firm, PSA, has stressed that “consumer demand for new vehicles remains the overriding factor in the post-lockdown recovery,” said Auto Express. The factory closed late in March due to COVID-19. PSA, which also covers Peugeot, Citroen and DS, will reopen more plants across Europe when customer confidence and demand are strong enough.
