CarGurus is offering subscribing dealers in Canada, the U.S. and the U.K. “contactless options” to help them safely connect with consumers about the vehicles they would like to purchase.
“For those shoppers who are looking to buy a vehicle and for those dealerships that are able to remain open — we are here for all of you, and we are working to provide the tools and information for a safe, contactless purchase,” said Tom Caputo, Chief Product Officer at CarGurus.
Subscribing dealerships can access the new search filter and vehicle description features, which can be applied to their inventory on the company’s website. Those dealerships can also opt into any of the following services that they are able to provide to consumers. These include:
- Social Distancing Appointments, for consumers to schedule an appointment to visit the dealership;
- Virtual Appointments, for consumers to schedule a virtual meeting with a dealership for a virtual walk-around of the vehicle;
- Contactless Purchase, for car shoppers to pay or finance a vehicle remotely, via phone or email, and any paperwork will be delivered to them;
- Free Test Drive at Home, which includes a 50-kilometre radius in Canada so vehicles can be brought to the customer’s home to test drive; and
- Free Home Drop Off, which also works within a 50-kilometre radius in Canada so a dealer can deliver the vehicle and associated paperwork to the customer.
