The DealerRater 2020 Dealer of the Year Award winners have been announced.
DealerRater, a car dealer review website that’s part of the Cars.com company, officially named the award recipients of its annual program on January 28. It includes dealers from both the U.S. and Canada.
“Customer satisfaction is a key differentiator in today’s competitive retail market and our Dealer of the Year Award winners continue to raise the bar for best practices in our industry,” said Jamie Oldershaw, General Manager at DealerRater.
The program ensures award winners are recognized, at the national and state or provincial levels, for distinction in outstanding customer service based on consumer reviews. These reviews are specific to the consumer’s dealership experience and pulled from DealerRater.com and DealerRater.ca. Customer service, quality of work, friendliness, pricing, and overall experience are just some of the categories that are used to help create the dealership’s score.
“DealerRater’s Dealer of the Year awards are given annually to the top U.S. and Canadian car dealers based on a Bayesian algorithm called PowerScore, which considers the dealership’s average DealerRater star rating as well as the total number of reviews written about the dealership during the 2019 calendar year,” said DealerRater in its news release.
To qualify for the award, dealers must have two things: at least 25 new reviews on DealerRater.com within a scoring year (so 2019 for the current winners), and an average (minimum) four out of a five-star rating. The winners can pick up their award at the NADA Show 2020 when they visit booth #3577C, where they will also receive a free professional photo.
