Mitsubishi upgrades visual identity in maritimes

Following up on its plan to upgrade the visual identity of its dealerships across the nation, Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada announced the first stores in the maritimes to sport its new global image design: Steele Mitsubishi in Halifax, N.S., and Charlottetown Mitsubishi in P.E.I.

The move comes as the automaker seeks to expand its retail network in Atlantic Canada, which could in part be related to the new federal zero-emissions vehicle incentives. The brand’s Outlander PHEV is said to be Canada’s best-selling plug-in hybrid vehicle.

Tammy Roach, dealer principal, Charlottetown Mitsubishi, said there is a lot of excitement about the brand and the Outlander PHEV in P.E.I. She considers it the “perfect vehicle for this market” and expects to see “a lot more Mitsubishi Motors vehicles here in P.E.I.”

Charlottetown Mitsubishi is a 9,000 sq. ft. facility with a Drive-Thru Service Centre. The dealership is supported by seven full-time staff, who will help celebrate the official grand opening of the new-look dealership on June 20.

Steele Mitsubishi, the other store to feature the brand’s new visual identity, will celebrate the grand opening of its more than 20,000 sq. ft. facility over the next few weeks. The dealership is owned by the Steele Auto Group and currently employs 36 people. The facility is said to be bright and modern, and feature a “state-of-the-art” Drive-Thru Service Centre with eight bays.

“We’re excited by the growth in Atlantic Canada. Strengthening core markets and entering new untapped markets and communities is a key strategy for Mitsubishi Motors,” said Juyu Jeon, president and CEO, Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada, Inc. “As our brand evolves from the product we offer to our retail network, we’ll continue to strengthen the shopping experience for our customers together with the right partners in the right markets.”
