Recognizing the next-generation of female leaders

Mercedes-Benz Canada has issued a call to women across the nation for its 2019 Emerging Leaders Award in an effort to recognize their achievements.

The award was developed in partnership with the Women’s Executive Network (WXN) and represents women between the ages of 30-40 years old who have demonstrated vision, leadership, and innovative thinking.

“Our ongoing partnership with WXN is a reflection of Mercedes-Benz Canada’s commitment to the advancement of women in the workplace — not just within the company, but across Canadian industries,” said Virginie Aubert, Vice President, Marketing, Mercedes-Benz Canada.

Women who have won the award are seen as “high-potential contributors within their organizations and have been targeted for successive leadership positions,” said the automaker in a news release. They have been described as women who have accomplished a great deal in their chosen fields, and are passionate and eager to learn and innovate.

The nominees will be judged base do four criteria: Vision and Leadership, Authentic Leadership (how they have demonstrated a strong sense of purpose and driven engagement within her organization), Innovative Thinking, and Recognition.

The deadline to apply is June 17.

Award winners will be announced at the annual WXN (Women’s Executive Network) Top 100 Most Powerful Women Gala on November 21, 2019. Previous winners of the Top 100 Awards include Margaret Atwood, Dr. Roberta Bondar, Arlene Dickinson, Christine Magee, Michaëlle Jean, Heather Reisman, and Kathleen Taylor.
