The CF Lime Ridge shopping mall in Hamilton, Ont., hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony on June 14 to celebrate the launch of its electric vehicle charging stations with Tesla and FLO.
The company’s investment in the technology brought 20 Tesla Superchargers and three FLO chargers to the property, and is expected to help grow the EV community in the city, according to a CF Lime Ridge news release.
Furthermore, the company made a donation to the Empowerment Squared — a Hamilton-based youth charity, as part of its commitment to give back to the Hamilton community. The funds will go towards “empowering youth through education around sustainable change,” said CF Lime Ridge.
The launch also included a “Ride and Drive” event to help raise awareness about the benefits of EVs, where attending media representatives were offered the chance to test drive Tesla and other electric cars on-site.
Among those in attendance at the ceremony include Fred Eisenberger, Mayor of the City of Hamilton; John Massey, Vice President of Operations for Cadillac Fairview; Brookes Shean, General Manager for Central Canada at FLO; Liem Vu, General Manager at CF Lime Ridge, and Leo Johnson, Executive Director of Empowerment Squared.
