Canadian dealers party to kick off NADA

It what is fast becoming a tradition, Canadian dealers and suppliers who serve the auto retail industry gathered for a night of networking, partying and listening to great Canadian musical talent on the eve of the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) show.

The event was held Thursday, March 22 at Vinyl nightclub at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, and organizers say there were more than 450 people registered for the exclusive event that was free to Canadian dealers and supported by 20 sponsors.

“Any time you can get a group of people together it’s always a positive experience, and Canada Night at NAD’eh is no exception. It was wonderful to see such a lovely, vibrant crowd there that evening,” said Chuck Seguin, President of Seguin Advisory Services and a Canadian auto dealer contributor. He was among the many people to attend the event, which included Dealer Principals like Al MacPhee of MacPhee Ford in Nova Scotia, who is also a Canadian Automobile Dealers Association (CADA) Laureate.

Alan Bird, Chief Executive Leader for SCI Marketview took to the stage to welcome attendees and thank the many sponsors by name, and then introduced the band. Bird was the architect of the first Canada Night event at NADA two years ago, but it has since grown to be an event supported by a broad range of industry suppliers, (including Canadian auto dealer) who are official sponsors.

Former Great Big Sea frontman Alan Doyle didn’t disappoint, as he delivered an upbeat and energetic musical set that brought a bit of Newfoundland and Canada to the Las Vegas nightlife scene. The club was booked exclusively for the event, and Canadian dealers and attendees chatted, ate and drank before the band took the stage.

Some dealers and guests were also invited to meet Alan Doyle backstage before the show where he chatted, shared stories and patiently posed for professional photos and the expected selfies.

It was the first night of what will be many parties throughout the show for dealers, as suppliers use the gathering as a chance to meet with them outside their dealerships to socialize and talk business, but the Canada Day at NAD’eh event is something special each year.

The gathering was sponsored by: CADA, Canadian auto dealer, Automotive News Canada, Canadian AutoWorld, Canadian Black Book, CarFinco, CarProof, CDK Global, Cox Automotive, iA Dealer Services, Kijiji, Leader Auto Resources, LGM, Motoinsight / Unhaggle, PBS Systems, Quorum, RBC, SCI, Serti, SiriusXM, Sym-Tech, TD Auto Finance and Universus Media.
