Mulroney to headline 2018 CADA Summit

Former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney will be among the keynote speakers, panelists and industry experts participating in the 6th annual CADA Summit on Feb. 14, 2018 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

Organized by the Canadian Automobile Dealers Association, and held this year for the first time in conjunction with the 2018 Canadian International AutoShow, the CADA Summit is the industry’s premier dealer-focused event, and has sold out the past several years.

Huw Williams, CADA’s Director of Public Affairs, will be engaging with Mulroney in a moderated conversation to close out the day.  Among the topics of discussion will be the status of the NAFTA talks with the Trump administration. Mulroney is an advisor to the federal Liberal government.

“We have an incredible event planned for our dealers,” said Bonnie Wasser, CADA’s Industry Relations Officer, and the architect of the event.

Other high profile speakers include Peter Welch, President and CEO of the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) who will offer valuable insights into what’s on the minds of U.S. dealers.

Futurist, TEDx Speaker and author John Ellis of the new book, “The Zero Dollar Car” will explore how big data will impact the auto industry.

A dealer panel will feature a high-powered group of the industry’s top dealers: Steven Landry, AutoCanada, Norman Hébert, Park Avenue Group and Chris Pfaff, Pfaff Auto Partners.

Dennis DesRosiers will assess where Canada’s new and used vehicle market is going, and Craig Alexander, Senior Vice-President and Chief Economist with the Conference Board of Canada, will provide an economic outlook about and offer insights about Canadian consumers.

Sheryl Connelly, Manager, Global Consumer Trends and Futuring, Ford Motor Company, will offer her insights into the trends impacting the industry. She has served as Ford’s futurist for more than a decade, and Fast Company magazine twice named her “One of the Most Creative People in Business.”

Peter Leto, Google’s Head of Industry — Automotive Retail Sales, U.S., will help dealers better understand their buyers, and the digital journey they embark upon to shop for vehicles.
