BC dealers to gather in Whistler for conference

The New Car Dealers Association of BC is gearing up for its annual conference designed to help dealers succeed in a technologically-oriented industry led by a new kind of consumer.

The BC Auto Industry Conference, set to take place between Oct. 15-16 in Whistler, BC, will include industry experts like Riley Nelko from Google and Andrew Au from Intercept Group. It will also include speakers from Nextup, Transparency, the Canadian Automobile Dealers Association, and more.

“We have a great lineup of speakers this year,” said Blair Qualey, President & CEO of the New Car Dealers Association of BC. “We recognize the auto retail business is evolving and we want to ensure our members hear from leading industry experts about what to expect now and in the near future.”

Apart from the great keynotes and presentations, the event gives the province’s dealers a chance to interact, network and share stories about the market and the industry, according to Qualey.

“The informal part of the conference is a vital component,” said Qualey. “It’s not often our dealers get a chance to take a break and meet their peers and exchange ideas. This event and the venue is perfect for that.”

Another feature at this year’s conference will be the presentation of the NCDA’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

This prestigious award honours the careers of distinguished car dealers who have had a major impact on their industry and their communities. This year’s worthy recipient is Graeme Roberts. He joins only a handful of previous award winners to be honoured.
